Hi, I'm Vijay.

I'm a Data Engineer with over seven years of experience turning large-scale data into reliable, production-grade systems. As a Software Engineer III at Walmart Global Tech, I build and optimise data pipelines that validate over $1.5B in daily transactions, following roles across Finance, Banking, Retail and Hospitality at Intuit (Altimetrik), Société Générale and Mindtree.

I work primarily in Scala, Python, SQL and R across the big data ecosystem — Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Oozie and Airflow — on AWS and GCP, with databases from PostgreSQL and Hive to Cassandra and Neo4j. More recently I've focused on applied AI, from fine-tuning large language models for log anomaly detection to Retrieval-Augmented Generation and agentic AI.

My projects range from predicting Falcon 9 booster landings and forecasting UK fuel inflation to building a Data Vault 2.0 platform for medical imaging. I hold a Master of Science in Data Science (Distinction) from the University of Birmingham, along with certifications in Machine Learning and Data Science (IBM), Data Analytics (Google), Deep Learning, and Agentic AI. My work has earned the "Impact Driver" award at Walmart, a GenAI "Team" award at Altimetrik, and the "A-Team" award six times at Mindtree.
